Under the Savids (1501-1722), Iran's book arts flourished, and the period's manuscripts are noted for their high quality calligraphies, illuminations, paintings, and bindings. The Met is home to a 16th century manuscript of the Khamsa (Five Tales) by the Persian poet Nizami with exquisite details that we have adapted for our notecard collection.
