The Tiffany Pine Bough Rollerball Pen is based on a picture frame with an original Favrile glass and gilt-bronze pine bough pattern created by the studios of Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848-1933). Tiffany is known for creating one of a kind art objects, handblown vases, special-order mosaics and windows, and finely crafted jewellery- consistent with his mission to bring beauty into the home. Many of the designs that came from the Tiffany Studios were inspired by nature and incorporated Tiffany's signature Favrile glass. The picture frame's pattern was created by placing opalescent blue Favrile panes behind an etched and pierced metalwork design. Gold overlay with blue lacquer. Roller ball, black ink. Screw-top cap. Presented in gift box. Approximately 5''L x 1/2''W.

Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848-1933) was one of America's most acclaimed and multi talented artists working in the late Nineteenth and early Twentieth Centuries. Tiffany embraced virtually every decorative medium, designing and directing the production of windows, mosaics, lighting, glass vases, pottery, metalwork, enamels, and jewellery. Of all of his creative endeavours, stained glass brought Tiffany the greatest recognition. His Favrile glass, patented in 1881, was internally coloured with variegated shades of colour or hues that created a milky, opaque, and sometimes rainbow-hued appearance when light shone through it. Unusual effects were created by introducing textures and adding different layers of glass or plating.
