Featuring lush, radiant colours, the Museum's Tiffany Irises Reversible Tote is based on Louis Comfort Tiffany's (American, 1848-1933) Magnolias and Irises Favrile glass window depicting a picturesque landscape. The window features an embankment of irises beneath flowering magnolia trees. Magnificent purple hills with a central meandering stream, emblematic of the River of Life theme, are set in the background.

A master of many media, Louis Comfort Tiffany (American, 1848-1933) was one of America's most noted decorative artists at the turn of the twentieth century. Son of the founder of the silver and jewellery firm Tiffany and Company of New York, he achieved fame in his own right in interior decoration and for his innovative leaded-glass windows. He approached his work in glass with a painter's eye for the nuances of colour and shadow. Favrile glass was the perfect medium through which Tiffany could express his unique blending of nature and exoticism.
